Most awaited short film RAW is on news again. On 19th July team has released the theme song “The gamer” on the occasion of Karthik Ramachandra’s birthday. Siri Music has bagged the music rights and distributing all around the world. The Song will be aired on all digital platforms from 23rd July.
The theme song is very much promising , Music director Bharan has done a great job and lyricist Ravikumar has given a catchy lines for the song. Song has increased the expectations on the movie. Team is planning to release the Title track “Dheeradhi Dheerane” in August. Movie premiere show will be announced considering the unlock process of theatres.
Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar on Thursday released the trailer of his production venture, French Biriyani, which stars stand-up comic and actor Danish Sait in the lead role.
This is Danish’s second feature film to be inspired by one of the many personas he assumed during prank calls from his time as an RJ. He made his screen debut with 2018’s Humble Politician Nograj, a character that was a massive hit with the Bengaluru crowd even before being adapted for the big screen. So much so that it became the mascot for the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
While Nograj was an immoral politician who indulges in dirty politics under the garb of a clown, French Biriyani brings to life Danish’s alter ego Asgar, who is a stereotypical uneducated youngster living in Bengaluru’s popular shopping hub, Shivaji Nagar. An auto-rickshaw driver, Asgar has a penchant for underground races and makes an entry Tokyo Drift-style into a parking basement as the crowd cheers. And then the chaos begins.
Judging by the trailer, the movie follows a French tourist, who has lost his way as he searches for ‘Samaan,’ a term that is loaded with meaning in the streets of Bengaluru.

RAW will set a benchmark

Highlight of yesterday’s live is that the movie will be shot in 6K picture quality for the first time in Indian short film industry. Karthik Ramachandra is also preparing well for the movie and there is a more expectation on this young artist. Keerthi Katwe has also joined the team and will be playing the female lead character. Though the team didn’t reveal anything about the story, there is a bundle of expectations on the movie. The very first live from the team went so good and successfully extended its fanbase. Shooting starts as soon as the lockdown is taken back.
The lockdown had put a stop to all television and film work across India. This hugely affected the daily wage labourers in the industry and also resulted in a huge loss for the Kannada film industry. However, after the Kerala government permitted the Malayalam film industry to start post-productions works, even the Karnataka state government has given permission to Sandalwood filmmakers to start post-production works for their pending films. However, they must follow the precautionary measures of social distancing and hygiene implemented by the government. However, the industry’s request to begin shooting has been rejected by the government.
The state government has allowed the Kannada film industry to start post-production work such as dubbing and editing while maintaining social distance. All activities of the film industry had been put on hold when the lockdown began and so the permission for dubbing and editing has relieved many producers.
Kannada producer K Manju released a statement saying, “The government was requested by the Film Chamber of Commerce and the Producers Association to allow the shooting. But the shooting was not allowed. Post-production work of 100 movies is pending. The government has allowed editing, graphics, CG, dubbing work. Nearly, 750 crores have already been invested in Kannada cinemas. The Coronavirus is spreading in the country, and we will follow all the regulations implied by the government. Any pre-production and post-production work can be done, but not shooting. Seven to eight people can work in the studio using a sanitizer, mask and gloves. (sic)”
After the government allowed the resumption of post-production works for the Kannada film industry, Kannada Film Producers Association President DK Ramakrishna, Secretary K Manju and Vice President of Film Workers Union Ravishankar visited Revenue Minister R Ashok on Sunday and thanked him.
Veteran Sandalwood cinematographer
S C Srikanth breathed his last today at his residence in Bengaluru. He was 87. He had worked as a cinematographer for over 40 years.
In his career, he has worked as a cinematographer for 60 films like Swarnagiri, Bahaddur Gandu, Naa Ninna Bidalare
, Shravana Banth, Vijay Vikarama
and more. He had won state awards for the movie Gejje Pooje
, Upasane
and Margadarshi.
BB He had won accolades for using trick shots for the popular movie Babruhavana. The Sandalwood industry has mourned the death of the cinematographer.
Sandalwood Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar shared a rather telling video post on his social media handle on Friday. The video showed the newspaper clipping of Bedara Kannapparelease. And, interestingly, the video had the background score of Shivappa Kayo Thande from the movie. The Kannada film Bedara Kannappa was released in 1954 and was directed by HLN Simha and written by G V Iyer. It had late legendary actor Dr Rajkumar and Pandari Bai in lead roles. The film’s release was said to be a historic moment for Kannada films.
The new Kannada cinema-only streaming service, which will release a new film every week, was launched on April 24
Anviton Entertainment Corporation has launched an online streaming platform called NammaFlix. Headed by Vijayaprakash, who is the CEO of the company the OTT platform, which will stream only Kannada films was launched on April 24 by Real star Upendra.
“This is the first digital platform exclusively for Kannada films,” says Vijayprakash. “NammaFlix is an attempt to promote Kannada films and also to reach out to Kannadigas across the globe. We saw a need in the market for such a platform. Out of 200 Kannada films released every year, only 10 % stay on screens long enough for the audience to watch. With NammaFlix we are opening a new world where Kannada films can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime. This also opens up opportunities for producers to use this platform to reach out to a larger audience.”
As of now they have old as well as some of the latest films. Currently available on Android phones, Vijayprakash says, “We plan to launch on Fire TV, Jio TV and iphone. As of now Namma Flix is available on Google Play.”
The team also plans to launch web series, music, star interviews and a fan club. “The weekly subscription is ₹19, ₹49 monthly and ₹399 annually. We are not even trying to break even now as we want NammaFlix to reach as many people across the world as possible. Anviton is also into gaming and launched Mobi2Fun a few years ago, which has around 70 games. One game is based on the Kannada film Om, starring Shivarajkumar and currently we are creating a game based on KGF Chapter 1.”
Vijayprakash says one new film will be released every week on NammaFlix. Anviton is registered in the US and Karnataka. “Our OTT platform helps the entire family watch a film within the comforts of their homes within an easy budget.”
Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar will likely feature in a new movie which will be directed by D Sathyaprakash, who had previously directed Rama Rama Re and Ondalla Eradalla.
According to a leading entertainment daily, director Sathyaprakash has said that the story has fantasy, commercial and comedy elements. The story has been discussed with Puneeth Rajkumar several times and he may take up the movie after he completes shooting for James.
